Anna was born in Russia in 1981 and at an early age received encouragement to pursue sports. She did very well at the junior level in tennis and hit the pro woman's scene in 1996 making it to the 4th round of the U.S. Open. Her only grand slam title is a doubles title that she won with Martina Hingis in 1999. She has yet to really reach her potential as a player but her stunning good looks and charisma have caught the world's eye.
