Cindy grew up in Dekalb Illinois and was the valedictorian of her high school. She received a scholarship  to Northwestern University to study engineering but dropped out after one semester to pursue modeling at the age of 19. Her career took off and she has appeared on more then 600 magazine covers. In 1991 she married actor Richard Gere but they were divorced after a 4 year marriage. She is currently remarried and has 2 children. Trivia: Ranked number 5 on Playboy's list of the 100 Sexiest Stars of the Century.
