Katie was born and raised in Toledo Ohio and acted in local theatre productions before audtitiong and landing a part in the acclaimed feature film "The Ice Storm". She then landed the role on the succesful tv series "Dawson's Creek". Since then she has appeared in several movies including "Disturbing behavior" and "Teaching Mrs. Tingle". AS a footnote, she turned down the role as Buffy in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."
